Our research group at the Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University, is at the forefront of unraveling the intricate cellular and molecular mechanisms that drive neurodegenerative diseases. We focus on the pivotal roles of astrocytes and microglia—key glial cells that orchestrate neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration, processes that lie at the heart of devastating conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Harnessing the power of network pharmacology, our interdisciplinary approach targets multiple molecular pathways simultaneously, paving the way for innovative drug discovery and therapeutic interventions. By bridging fundamental neuroscience with cutting-edge neuropharmacology, our group aims to develop effective strategies to halt or reverse brain degeneration, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
